SAN FRANCISCO · 250TH OF JULY WEEKEND
Fireworks off the Golden Gate Bridge, jazz in the Fillmore, and a holiday weekend built for slow, hazy strolls.
California allows adults 21+ to carry up to one ounce of flower (or 8 grams of concentrate). San Francisco keeps a tight leash on where you can actually light up, holiday or not.

WHERE TO PICK UP
LICENSED DISPENSARY
Window Dispensary
2060 Polk Street, San Francisco, CA
Tucked into the Polk Gulch / Russian Hill stretch, Window Dispensary is a solid stop before you head toward the waterfront festivities. Holiday weekends mean crowds, so check current hours and menu before you go, and bring a valid ID — no exceptions.
THIS YEAR IS A BIG ONE
4th of July Weekend Highlights
Golden Gate Bridge Fireworks
SATURDAY, JULY 4 · 9:30PM · FREE
For only the third time in the bridge’s history, fireworks launch directly from the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge, marking America’s 250th anniversary. A second barge near Pier 39 rounds out the show. Crissy Field, Marina Green, and the Northern Embarcadero are the best vantage points — skip the Ferry Building, since it won’t have a clear sightline.
Fisherman’s Wharf Waterfront Celebration
SATURDAY, JULY 4 · 2PM–9:30PM · FREE
The traditional waterfront celebration continues at Pier 39 and
Fisherman’s Wharf with live music, street performers, and a front
row seat to the bay. Expect heavy crowds and traffic — public transit
is the move.
Fillmore Jazz Festival
WEEKEND-LONG · FILLMORE STREET
A two-day street festival of live jazz, food, and art stalls running through the holiday weekend — a relaxed, music-forward way to spend an afternoon.
America’s 250th Block Party
2ND STREET, MARKET TO HOWARD · 2PM–8PM
A free, all-ages street party celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, with burlesque, a variety show, live music, and a hot dog eating contest.
Pier 45 Dockside Viewing
SATURDAY, JULY 4 · EVENING · TICKETED
A historic-pier viewing party with dockside fireworks views plus a laser light show beaming off Alcatraz Island — a quieter, seated alternative to the open waterfront crowds.
